The study of geography places the whole world at your fingertips. It takes you on fantastic voyages to faraway places and exotic landscapes and introduces you to our planet’s diversity of peoples, cultures, and ways of life. Geography shapes history and current events. In our increasingly globalized and interconnected society, knowledge of geography is more important than ever to understand the world and your place in it.
We will study geography from the physical, political, and cultural prospective through the five basic geographical themes of location, place, human-environment interaction, movement, and region. Special emphasis will be placed on geographical skills, and geographic literacy (locating countries, capitals, & physical features of the world).
